Morris The Remodeler and his wife Susan Ellin have raised thousands of dollars recently to support the Best Friends Animal Society. The campaign started on Labor Day 2010 and continues to support this extensive and comprehensive animal rescue sanctuary.

Morris noticed a severe increase in the number of animals in need of adoption. “As the economy has worsened more and more people have been forced out of their homes or into apartments that do not allow pets. In some cases, they can no longer afford to feed their animals,” noted Morris.

“It is especially important during this crisis with abandoned pets that something is done. Shelters are overflowing. If you are thinking of getting a pet, please consider getting a rescue animal,” Morris added.

His wife Susan was able to take a trip out to visit and volunteer at the Utah-based sanctuary. Over 10,000 acres of open space is enjoyed by a huge number of domestic and even wild animals in need. Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits - all have found a home at this nurturing facility founded in 1984. The nonprofit organization is one of America’s best known animal welfare rescue groups.

Best Friends works in outreach programs with shelters, other rescue groups and members nationwide to promote pet adoption, spay-and-neuter services, and humane education programs around the country.
